UCZ to Establish Presence in Ikelenge District

Rev PMK

Rev. Peggy Mulambya-Kabonde – General Secretary

Briefing members of Synod staff after daily devotion on the morning of Tuesday, 5th August, 2013 at Synod Headquarters, the General Secretary, Rev. Peggy Mulambya-Kabonde said that students from the United Church of Zambia Theological College had been sent to the district on the mission to open congregations there under the North Western Presbytery of the UCZ. She said “Students from our University in Mindolo (Kitwe) are already in the district to establish the presence of our Church in fulfillment of the commission Jesus Christ commanded His Church to ‘Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you (Matt. 28:19-20, KJV)’. I shall be travelling there towards the end of the week to join them and drum up support for this great mission”

The programme to establish the UCZ in Ikelenge District, and for that matter anywhere in Zambia, falls well within the Mission and Vision of the Church which are:

Mission: “The UCZ is committed to spreading the Good News of salvation to the Zambian people and all nations in fulfillment of Christ’s mission to the World” and

Vision: “The total salvation of humanity, with spiritual restoration and physical well being, fully reconciled to Christ, the only Saviour.”

The General Secretary later led the members of staff in praying for success of the mission in Ikelenge District so that many may come to know the saving knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ to the glory and honour of God. The Church and all well meaning people of God are hereby invited to pray for and support the mission of the UCZ in Ikelenge District.

The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) has embarked on a very vigorous programme to establish its presence in the newly constituted Ikelenge District of the North Western Province.
