TWO UCZ MINISTERS IN KENYA FOR CBS TRAINING

NAIROBI ,–KENYA: 22/06/2023–The Community Bible Study (CBS) is conducting a five-day Sub -Saharan Africa Regional Training of Trainers (TOT) in Nairobi Kenya.
The training which is being held at St Mary Magdalene Retreat House in Karen Township is being attended by 21 countries among them, Zambia, Tanzania, Burundi, South Sudan and Zimbabwe.
And the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) is being represented by Synod Community Bible Study and Christian Training Committee Convener Rev.Moses Chapakwenda and Rev.Davies Muwandia of Western Presbytery.
The training which started on 19th June and comes to a close on 23rd June, focuses on reviewing and unifying the Community Bible Study Curriculum across the 21 countries.
Synod Community Bible Study and Christian Training Committee Convener Rev.Moses Chapakwenda says the unifying of the curriculum across the member countries is important as it will address some of the challenges faced by countries that just joined the CBS.
“We are here in Karen Township reviewing and merging the CBS curriculum and among the topics looked at include core values, children and youth ministry, etc,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rev.Chapakwenda said UCZ needs to do more in reinforcing the teachings of the CBS curriculum as the Church and Zambia in particular is the biggest CBS family in Africa
“We need to do more trainings and see how the Church can move in line with other CBS Sub Saharan Africa countries,” he said
Community Bible Study is a non-denominational ministry I more than 120 countries with verse-to-verse bible study materials which focus on essentials of the Christian faith and not on divisive doctrinal distinctives.
