UCZ MUCHINGA PRESBYTERY – MPIKA: 01/05/2023– The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Muchinga Presbytery has embarked on investment projects aimed at boosting income for the Church.
Muchinga Presbytery Bishop Rev. Bishop Festus Chulu says the Church has embarked on block making and real estate projects in line with the Church’s investment policy.
Bishop Chulu says the Presbytery produces and supplies aproximately five thousand blocks and pavers every week, adding that five Personel have since been employed under the project.
“We are also providing employment to the community apart form producing building materials,’ he says
The Bishop said the Presbytery intends to expand the business and buy a utility vehicle to help ferry construction materials to and from the site.
And Bishop Chulu said the Presbytery is constructing a three bedroomed semi-detached housing unit which is at the plastering stage .
“We managed to put up a one by two semi-datched flat from the Presbytery Investment Sunday collections. Our plan is to construct ten similar housing units on the Presbytery plot at a total cost of four hundred thousand kwacha each to help the church do mission”.
Bishop Chulu said the Church is also putting up a Conference centre in Chinsali.
The UCZ Synod calendar provides a Sunday each for the Congregations and Presbyteries, respectively to retain collections for investment purposes.
Muchinga Presbytery is one of the ten Presbyteries of the UCZ which has implemented the Church’s investment policy.
