The United Church of Zambia has decided to conduct a thanksgiving worship service to honour God for the opportunity he has given to some of our UCZ members who have been elected to serve as Members of Parliament, and those holding other positions of leadership in Government. The service will be held either on 22 or 29 September 2013 at St Paul’s Congregation in Lusaka starting at 09:00 hours. All Presbytery Bishops are invited to attend the service.
Announcing this development to all Presbytery Bishops and other Church leaders of the UCZ, Mr. Rodgers Ng’ambi, UCZ Synod Administrative Secretary wrote that the Church will sensitise the leaders about its programmes and engage them on the ways they can enhance the developmental efforts of the Church. He wrote “During this worship service, we will seize the opportunity to sensitise these distinguished men and women on the developmental programmes the United Church of Zambia has embarked on throughout the country, so that they could also play their part. In-fact we were challenged by some of the MPs that their Church has not done much to bring on board the national leaders who are members of the UCZ in order to walk together in the Church’s endeavors.”
Mr. Ng’ambi invited all Church leaders to contribute suggestions on how the service can best be conducted, “You may send in your suggestions to the General Secretary on how best you feel the service could be conducted. Above all let us commit this programme into God’s care” he wrote.
