CHIEF IMWIKO ASSURED CHURCH’S SUPPORT

MWANDI,–UCZ WESTERN PRESBYTERY: 30/07/2024-  The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) General Secretary, Rev. Chipasha Musaba has assured the newly appointed Chief Anang’anga Imwiko of Mwandi District of the Church’s unwavering support to his leadership.
The General Secretary who led a delegation of Australian partners for the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) project, paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Chief in Mwandi on 30TH July 2024.
Speaking during the courtesy call, Rev.Musaba congratulated the Chief on his appointment and reiterated the Church’s support through prayers of good will.
And newly appointed Chief Anang’anga Imwiko expressed gratitude to the visiting delegation for the gesture.
He disclosed that his family has had a deep connection with the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) for a long time.
“My family is very connected to your church, UCZ is my family church. The late Inyambo Yeta III was a very strong member of your church for many years,”the Chief remarked.
He further praised the UCZ for its significant contributions to education and spiritual life in the Western Province, acknowledging the church’s ongoing projects, including homes for the aged, the OVC project, hospitals, and schools.
Meanwhile, the Chief urged the church to address the rising issue of youth involvement in illicit activities by establishing a skills training center in Mwandi District.
“We implore you to open up a skills training center for youths to reduce the number of young people becoming ‘junkies.’ For me, the church is the fourth arm of the government, and I believe you can tackle the issue,” he stated.
