UCZ CHIPEMBI FARM COLLEGE – CHISAMBA: 09/06/2023– National Pension Scheme (NAPSA) Human Resource Director, Agness Chiyasa has commended the United Church of Zambia Chipembi College of Agriculture for its role in imparting survival skills in the youths and the vulnerable members of the Community.
Mrs. Chiyasa said NAPSA was happy to participate in the training programs, adding that education is key to poverty alleviation and wealth creation.
“Education enables people to overcome various societal barriers including those associated with different forms of disability like those which the school deals with. It is for this reason that National Pensions Scheme Authority considers as one of the priority areas that requires of support and that is why we are here,” she said.
Mrs. Chiyasa was speaking Friday, during a handover of fifty-four mattresses worth K40,000 to Chipembi College of Agriculture in partnership with Khawazi Lions Club of district 143.
She said the Authority provides support in areas such as health, environmental education and skills development, sustainable and community welfare, entrepreneurship, among others.
“In our quest to contribute to the wellbeing of the people, including those who may not be directly be our members, the National Pensions Authority has put in place deliberate corporate social responsibility programme aimed at addressing some of the challenges affecting the needy such as the elderly, children with special needs, orphans and street children,”said Mrs. Chiyasa
Speaking during the same event, Khwazi Lions Club President Charles Nakhoze said the role of Lions Club is to provide community service by identifying needs such as the one Chipembi College of Agriculture is facing and work with cooperating partners to alleviate those needs.
And Chipembi College of Agriculture Principal, Patience Maluza thanked NAPSA and Lions Club for the donation.
Ms. Maluza said the donation will help mitigate on the current mattresses shortage at the school.
United Church of Zambia Chipembi College of Agriculture is Technical Educational Vocational Training Authority(TEVETA) registered institution with a vision to impart citizens across the country with life agricultural skills.
