CHURCH WORKERS IN NORTH-WESTERN PRESBYTERY DIFFUSE EVIL POWERS OF GASSING AND RITUAL KILLING

CHINGOLA: 13/02/2020 – In the midst of ritual killings and gassing news, the United Church of Zambia Church workers in North-western Presbytery resolved to have their annual retreat in Chingola from 12th February 2020 to 14th February 2020 at Sky View Hotel. In his official opening address to the participants His Grace Rev Bishop Moses Gondwe(North-western Presbytery Bishop) disclosed that the retreat was not only going to provide a time for reflection, but also to pray, discern the voice of God, and possibly have their spiritual energy levels raised.

The retreat was also attended by the Copperbelt Presbytery Bishop, His Grace Rev Bishop Chipasha Musaba, the former General Secretary of the United Church of Zambia, Rev Chrispin Mbalazi, a prominent Lusaka businessman and Consultant Mr Muhammad Mulenga,  and the Synod Communications and Media Relations Secretary, Rev Dr. Dennis Mbita Sikazwe. Mr Mulenga who eloquently spoke on Financial Freedom emphasised on the need for discipline, endurance and resilience in all entrepreneurial undertakings. The retreat was also covered by a Benchmark (BM) TV intern, Mr Chella Sikazwe.

Meanwhile the General Secretary of the United Church of Zambia, Rev Dr Peggy Mulambya-Kabonde has condemned in strongest terms the trending gassing and mob justice in the country that has seen the loss of innocent lives. She said this on Thursday 20th  February 2020 during the morning devotions at the United Church House in Lusaka, She later invited all those who were in attendance to join in a season of prayer. However, she urged the Zambian government to see to it that the innocent citizens are protected, by stepping up security measures.
