UCZ Synod United Church of Zambia
MWANDI- 23-04-2024. The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Mwandi Congregation held an appreciation service for Ida and Keith Waddell for their positive contribution to the Church and the community of Mwandi.
The acknowledgement was aimed at showing gratitude to them for their instrumental role in spearheading developmental initiatives in the education and health sectors.
Mwandi Congregation Secretary Nsonga Masiye who gave a speech on behalf of the Consistory Chairperson during the Church Service said the Waddells have continued to show exemplary work towards the growth of the Church mission projects.
He explained that the couple who have served the Church for more than 20 years have devoted God’s calling by building homes for the vulnerable as well as backed the spread of the gospel through evangelism.
Mr. Masiye said their contribution to the development of Mwandi cannot go unnoticed hence the Church’s decision to appreciate them by presenting to them an art of the Zambian Map painting with pictures of their works in Mwandi District.
Mr. Keith Waddell was a secondary school teacher before serving as UCZ Synod Education Secretary for six years while Ida Waddell worked as Mwandi Hospital theatre nurse as well as administrator for three terms before becoming UCZ Synod Health Secretary , a position she held for 6 years.
