LUSAKA,–UCZ LUSAKA PRESBYTERY: 02/06/2024- The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Retired Reverend Lephern Sikazwe has died.
Rev.Sikazwe died today Wednesday 17th July,2024 at the National Heart Hospital after an illness.
This is contained in a funeral notice that has been issued by Lusaka Presbytery Bishop, Rev.Dr. Lordwell Siame.
The Late Retired Reverend Sikazwe joined the United Church of Zambia as probation minister in 1979 after his licencing at the then United Church of Zambia Theological college.
Rev. Sikazwe served the Church in various capacities including that of being part time Chaplain at the University Teaching Hospital.
He also served as Northern Presbytery Bishop between 1997 and 2001.
In 2001 he was stationed at St. John’s Congregation in Chelston Consistory in Lusaka ,as Minister-In- Charge ,the station where he served until December 2003.
He was later transferred to St. Bartholomew Congregation in Marapodi Consistory in 2004 as Minister in Charge , the station where he served until his retirement in December,2010.
The late retired Reverend Sikazwe joined the United Church of Zambia on 1st January 1976 and retired on 31st December,2010.
The funeral gathering is being held in Meanwood Kamwena Phase 2, in Chelstone Consistory.
He is survived by a wife , 8 children and 21 grandchildren.
