UCZ Synod United Church of Zambia
KABWE,–UCZ DIAKONIA CENTRE: 02/07/2024– The United Church of Zambia has elected Rev. Chipasha Musaba and Rev. Festus Bwembya Chulu as Synod General Secretary and Bishop, respectively for a term of four years each.
The two leaders were duly elected,Monday night , in accordance with article 15(b1) and 15(2a) of the United Church of Zambia constitution ,at the 31st Synod Meeting held at Diakonia Lodge in Kabwe.
The new Synod Bishop who has since been inducted was the serving Bishop for Muchinga Presbytery until the time of his election.
Bishop Chulu takes over from the Rev.Bishop Sydney Sichilima who has been at the helm of church leadership for the past eight years.
The Reverend Musaba ,on the other hand had been serving his first term as General Secretary until his re -election. He will be inducted into office within the next three months according to the UCZ provisions and practice.
Meanwhile, the new Synod Bishop has appealed to the Church that she remain prayerful and united in order to fulfill her vision and mission.
Bishop Chulu said although the task ahead of him was huge, he has always been ready to serve God .
