UCZ TRINITY CONGREGATION –LUNDAZI 01/05/2022 –: The United Church of Zambia in Eastern Presbytery held a celebration Service in honour of the Presbytery Bishop, Reverend Martha Siame who has served for 26 years as minister in the Church . The service was held on Sunday 1st May,2022 at Trinity Congregation in Lundazi Consistory.
Officiating at the event, Lusaka Presbytery Bishop, Reverend Dr. Lordwell Siame, said the Church was proud of the services Reverend Martha Siame rendered to the Church.
Reverend Dr. Siame said the long service celebration in the United Church of Zambia has been part of the Church practice to honour the Ministers who cloak 20 years and more in their service. He encouraged Bishop Siame to remain steadfast in her ministry.
And in her statement of Journey in Ministry, Reverend Martha Siame said her ministry was characterized with Joy and pain, adding that prayer and scripture are the tools that have helped. She expressed gratitude to her family and the Church for their support throughout her vocation .
And Guest of Honour at the event, Chief Mphamba VI of the Tumbuka People of Lundazi District, said Reverend Siame’s 26 years of service in the Church is a great contribution to society and testament to her dedication to duty .
Chief Mphamba said the royal establishment recognizes the important role the clergy play in transforming lives of the people despite the hardships servants of God go through.
The traditional leader urged the clergy to draw inspiration from Reverend Siame and remain steadfast in Ministry.
Meanwhile, the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Mission and Evangelism Secretary, Reverend Andrew Chulu said the ministry of Reverend Siame is a testimony that God has deposited Gifts into every person regardless of one’s station in life.
In his Homily dubbed ‘ potential within’ drawn from the books of Jeremiah 1:4-10 and Mathew 25:14-15, Reverend Chulu urged Christians to use their God given potential and fulfil their divine mandate.
Prior to her being elected Bishop for Eastern Presbytery in 2014, Reverend Siame served in Luapula and central Presbyteries.
Her tenure of office as Eastern Presbytery Bishop comes to a close in December, 2022.
