UCZ HONORS NJASE HEAD

CHOMA,–UCZ NJASE GIRL’S SECONDARY: 23/06/2024– The United Church of Zambia (UCZ) has honoured Njase Girl’s Secondary school Headteacher Abel Kanuke, a meritorious achievement award for his contribution to the growth of the school.

The award was presented during an investiture ceremony graced by UCZ General Secretary Rev.Chipasha Musaba at Njase Girl’s Secondary School on 21st June 2024.
And speaking when he delivered his speech, guest of honor Rev. Musaba emphasized the significant partnership between the church and the government in education. “The presence of the Provincial Education Officer at this occasion underscores this fact and is highly appreciated,” he noted, thanking the officer for attending despite a busy schedule.
Rev. Musaba praised Mr. Kanuke’s decade-long tenure, highlighting his impact on the school and community. “Over the past decade, Mr. Kanuke has exemplified extraordinary leadership, transforming Njase Girls Secondary School into a beacon of educational excellence and unity within our community,” he said. “His unwavering dedication and vision have not only shaped the academic landscape but also nurtured an environment where students thrive and grow.”
Speaking at the same event, Mr. Darius Mumba, the UCZ Synod Education Secretary, challenged Mr. Kanuke to start grooming future leaders. “I challenge you, Mr. Abel Kanuke, to start grooming teachers who can take over from you when you retire so that there is continuity of good leadership,” he said. He also encouraged teachers to document the contributions of UCZ’s mission schools to education in Zambia.
Meanwhile, Mr. Kanuke expressed his gratitude to the UCZ and the school community for their support. “I feel truly honored and humbled by my church, the UCZ, to receive this award of recognition for our school’s outstanding results,” he stated. He acknowledged the collective efforts of his staff, students, and the broader school community, emphasizing teamwork and collaboration. “This award is a testament to the collective efforts of our entire school community,” he added.
He also thanked the Church for the award while appreciating parents and guardians of the pupils for believing in the school to mould them into responsible citizens.
