REV.DR SIKAZWE TO SERVE UNDER UCJCI

Former United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Communications Secretary Reverend Dr. Dennis Sikazwe has left Zambia to go and serve as Mission Partner to the United Church of Jamaica and Cayman Island (UCJCI).

The immediate past UCZ St Margret’s Congregation Minister-in-Charge who left for Jamaica on Friday 29th July,2022 as Council for World Mission (CWM) Partner will serve at the International University of the Caribbean under the UCJCI as a Librarian.

Reverend Dr. Sikazwe in his departure message thanked the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) for according him an opportunity to serve as Minister both at home and away.

He said while the new role requires adapting to culture and the environment, he is optimistic that he will perform his duties according to God’s instructions.

“When you are going to a new place, there are always uncertainties but I am happy that I will be able to continue on the mission of serving God in Jamaica,” he said

Reverend Dr. Sikazwe who is also former United Church of Zambia University (formerly known as United Church of Zambia Theological College) Lecturer and Librarian said serving as a mission partner will also continue to strengthen the relationship the UCZ has with other partners in ministry.

And Rev.DR Sikazwe also shared how his call into ministry was birthed during his high school days while in Kasama District of Northern Province.

“I remember when I was in my eleventh grade when the call to serve God came, I almost stopped school in order to go into ministry but was advised to finish school before I could enroll for theological studies,” he said.

Reverend Dr. Sikazwe who was born in Mpulungu district in Northern Province attended schools at Nyamukolo Primary School in Mpulungu and Kasama primary School before proceeding to Kasama Boys Secondary School where he completed his schooling in 1982.

In 1989, he enrolled at the United Church of Zambia Theological College in Kitwe where he graduated from in 1992 before being sent to work in Isoka Consistory of Muchinga Presbytery.

Rev.Dr Sikazwe served as Minister in Charge in various consistories as well as on numerous portfolios within the church.
