DORM CONSTRUCTION CHEERS MWENZO HEAD

UCZ MUCHINGA PRESBYTERY– The construction of a dormitory at Mwenzo Girls’ Secondary School of the United Church of Zambia (UCZ) is progressing well with works currently standing at 92 percent completion.

The project which is expected to gobble a sum of K600,000 is meant to cushion the accommodation crisis faced by the school. Mwenzo Girls Secondary School Head Teacher Lisa Fulawulu said the school has been hit with accommodation crisis due to the influx of pupils enrolling at the institution. Mrs. Fulawulu disclosed that currently the school only has five dormitories against a population of 560 pupils. She further explained that the project is expected to be completed by April,2023 but however works have stalled due to financial constraints.

“We are asking for assistance from well-wishers to help us complete this infrastructure before the year ends,” she said. Meanwhile, Mrs. Fulawulu has expressed happiness with the progress made on the production unit of the school. She said the school is engaged in pig farming, poultry, goat rearing and rabbit farming alongside running a fruit and vegetable garden whose produce they are feeding the learners. “Our production unit is performing well, and we have the girls consuming fresh vegetables from our garden” she added
