CAZ HANDS OVER DORMITORY TO KANCHINDU SCHOOL.

SOUTHERN PROVINCE – KANCHINDU MISSION 21/05/2022 –Christian Aid for Zambia (CAZ) handed over a newly constructed girl’s dormitory to the Management of United church of Zambia Kanchindu Combined School.
Christian Aid for Zambia (CAZ) in partnership with the United Church of Zambia Projects Department constructed the infrastructure at a cost of approximately over K500, 000.
Speaking during the handover ceremony in Kanchindu on Sunday 21st May, 2022, CAZ Vice Chairperson AXEI SPERBER expressed happiness at the construction project and urged the contractors to expedite the process of fitting electrical wiring and plumbing works.
Mr. SPERBER also urged the School Management to accelerate the process of acquiring beds for the dormitory.
And acting Presbytery Bishop, Rev. BONNIE NYANGU thanked CAZ and the UCZ synod for the support rendered towards the construction project.
Rev. NYANGU said the Boarding facility was a sign of many other in fracture projects to be constructed such as a school laboratory.
Meanwhile School Headteacher EMMANUEL CHISABI said the newly constructed dormitory will alleviate the accommodation challenges of the Girls at school face.
Mr. CHISABI said some children cover a distance of over 90 kilometers to and have been camping as weekly boarders in the nearby villages.
Speaking at the same occasion, School Parent Teachers Associate Chairperson INNOCENT SIATWIINDA appealed to CAZ and well-wishers to support the school to construct a dormitory for Boys.
Mr. Siatwiinda assured CAZ of continued support through provision of building materials such as provision of sand, molding bricks and necessary labor during construction.
United Church of Zambia Kanchindu School has been operating as primary school since its inception until 2017 when the secondary school section was established.
In 2017 CAZ embarked on a 60 bed capacity dormitory project for girls at Kanchindu. CAZ officials from Germany are in the country to inspect the projects the organization has been sponsoring in collaboration with the UCZ projects department.
Besides CAZ, World Vision Zambia recently constructed an ablution block at the school.
